What if Martinez is buying all these promising young players to sell them on for huge fees later on, then buy even better ones since he'd have loads of doe? For example:

Stones: £3m, now worth £40m (I know Martinez didn't sign Stones, but he developed him)

Lukaku: £28m, now worth £50m

Deulofeu: £4m, now worth £30m when you take out the buyback clause

Barkley: Free, now worth £45m

Our 4 best players are all worth £155m, which is a ginormous sum. Imagine the squad we could buy with that cash! Martinez would have the world at his feet with £155m.
He wouldn't get a single player more important to our side than any of them, £155m wouldn't replace them 4 let alone this mythical squad you think he'd assemble.
Keep them all, buy Yarmolenko and a proper keeper and we'd be somewhere close.

I thought the reason the Kiev owner wouldn't sell to us last time was because he wanted to keep Yarmolenko for the Champions league, they are still in the Champions league, so why would they decide to sell now.

From what he said after the fact, our bid came in too late, and he had no time to find a replacement with the money. He apparently said he would have sold if we had gone in earlier in the summer

So maybe we have a chance, as he's known he'll be losing yarmolenko this window. Or maybe we don't, as he's keeping yarmo for the CL. The only thing I know is that I don't know anything haha

funny thing in selling our stars.

We would want to sign a young striker who can bang them in ......lukaku

or a centre half who is potentially world class.......stones

or have a scouse evertonian potentially of being a captain and hero for the fans.......barkley

or a exciting winger who can assist out of nothing......del

The Lewis Grabban to B'mouth fee just goes to show how priceless goal scoring strikers are these days, 10 years ago it felt mental when we spent over 11 million on Yakubu, and he'd scored a boatload of goals all over the place.

It's good that we'll make a load of profit on Lukaku if/when he eventually leaves, but if we want a worthy replacement it seems like we'll have to spend a large sum of any fee, probably on a gamble player, as Lukaku was when we bought him.
