Everton Transfer Thread 2016

So if Martins Indi, comes in, and Williams, that would be 4 signings of

Gueye
Stekelenburgh
Martins Indi
Williams

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...............................................................................
They would be solid but not spectacular signings.
However, I feel that some people think every signing will be a marquee name.
I think it is clear that it is difficult to attract certain big names to Everton , if it happens at all I think it will be at the end of the window.

At the moment I would be happy with solid signings , we don't even seem to be making those, just yet.

The word is that Ron is getting very frustrated with the clubs ability to finalise a transfer. He didn't want Gueye, he wanted carvalho and the board pulled the plug due to "financial reasons." Unacceptable and not good enough.

TF

What absolute piffle.

You really need to try MUCH harder than that mate.

The word actually is that RON thinks you're a bad teat....;)

However the biggest issues..

1. Going into the season with no replacement for Howard and therefore no real number one keeper

2. Lots of deadwood still at the club ie McGeady to name one of many.. (Looks like Kone will still be here this year which is very worrying

3. Lukaku and stones futures still not sorted

What are we waiting for exactly? Window hasn't closed yet I know.. But surely these things need to be sorted sooner rather than later!

I have you spot on, mate.

You'd have hoped that at least some of these issues would have been sorted by now. We're less than a week away from our first prem fixture. Mosh is trying my patience and I'm starting to fear the worst. I really am. What on earth is causing such inactivity when there's money in the bank? Unrealistic targets, reluctance to pay over the odds, indecisiveness in the market?

I agree, there has to be a more pragmatic middle way between signing nobody and leaving the squad weak and exposed and not being able to sign top targets.

It doesn't mean you settle for getting just anybody, but Koeman and Walsh won't be doing that anyway. I will back their judgement all the way - this is what they are paid to do.

The possibilities for marquee signings may open up at the end of the month.

If Stones is off, this means that the possible signings of BMI/Williams are covered by that income and with more to spare. Not saying we should we should aim to end the window with a big surplus from transfers but signing cheaper players per se does not mean we are necessarily signing poor players - it's their individual and collective impact that counts.

If we can then spend £25-£30m each on three signings later on this month then fantastic.
