Everton Transfer Thread 2016

The most important thing is Koeman gets the players he wants. It doesn't matter they are 1st choice or 2nd choice or 3rd choice. And you can judge them from 10 games to Xmas or whatever. :coffee:

I was willing to accept losing Stones if it were to help facilitate a series of quality players, but Yannick Bolasie's arrival is pretty underwhelming.

Williams I see as a good capture, Koné may strengthen our squad but isn't exactly enthralling and nor do I think Bolasie will push us much further.

Losing Romelu at any some stage in this window is something we cannot contemplate, and I hope we bring in some higher calibre individuals too!

Been impressed with Williams and the Sunderland Kone. Not exactly enthralling signings but I think they will prove to be rather shrewd pieces of business assuming Kone deal goes through.

Bolasie I'm pretty unsure on. He's hot and cold from what I have seen, not a massive fan. 30m seems to be too expensive for mine but he does add a bit of versatility in being able to cover two areas where we are lacking (left wing and back up striker).

Carrying on from this, does anyone think we might see him play quite a bit up front with Rom not just primarily on the wing? Has some pretty good stats there (14 games 7 goals 5 assists)

...yep, posted elsewhere that I see Bolasie in a more central role, those stats are quite encouraging.

...I wonder if there was a dependency on selling Stones or is this the anticipated rush before the first game.

Clearly the Stones thing's been done a while I reckon. Pretty evident on SAT at ESPANYOL, the greetings prior to game were all very 'goodbye-ish' between the players. And I think the Sittttteh squad inclusion palaver only confirms that.

I don't doubt there was always gonna be a LOT of movement TX wise this week, and they're never gonna please everyone are they, the incomings...it's a big case of expectations being perhaps higher than they should.

That said, I'm not that unhappy with them TBH. Throw MATA on top, maybe a keeper & striker. All good as a start.

We've gotta give it time. But blimey...this talk from some about 'voicing our concerns' on Saturday....

Pfffffff.
