It's not a question of being ok with it or not. It's that I would expect it to be done if the 100m net budget was real.
As far as precedents are concerned we set one when we doubled RK's wages to get him. If we hadn't being willing to offer a substantial wage premium we may well have ended up with a manager on the level of Eddie Howe.

But the £100m budget and wages are two very different things. The market is the market and £100m simply doesn't buy what it used to. Cost that much to buy 1 player for United.

Over paying players in the wage column drastically is short sighted IMO...especially on a player like Witsel who is unproven in the PL.
