Basically the above is from by far the most sauced Dortmund site, my German isn't up to much but effectively states that he won't be joining Dortmund and they have pulled their interest for the time being, think something about they evaluate him at no more than 25m euros and Kiev want 30m to sell him before the CL knock-out games

This may be good for Everton. If Dortmund (who I would think would be a more attractive club) is out for only value him at 25M but Kiev need 30M to part that is only the difference of 3+ in pounds. I think getting him for 19-22 pounds is solid business, although we still havent shown the ability to spend that without selling first....

No idea if it's true or not, but West Ham can offer Byram first team football - that could play a part. Still, we shouldn't be losing out to clubs like that.

Says he's too expensive for Dortmund to sign this winter. Nothing about that he won't leave Kiev. Not that I expect he will.

That was what my pidgeon German understanding made out was being said mate, the too expensive bit is intriguing as its not saying that Kiev said no sale like during the summer

Wasn't the rumour that we were prepared to offer 30m euros anyway?

They were also very late to the Yarmolenko party.

And so are we again, their chairman told us last window that he couldnt leave cos it was to late, so what do we do the next window?

Yep thats right, we wait till the end of the window again.

We have some very clever people running our football club, very, very clever.

Anyone heard anything linking us with Calleri of Boca?

Mate of mine who has a good connection there tells me we are interested.

Not claiming it gospel btw but he has never contacted me about anything before.

Jonathan Calleri’s father confirms the Boca Juniors striker won’t join Inter, but Palermo are an option.

The forward was very close to agreeing a move to the Nerazzurri, which would have seen him loaned to Bologna for the rest of the season.

However, rules over third-party ownership complicated the move, meaning Calleri would have been sent to Uruguayan club Deportivo Maldonado, then loaned to the Rossoblu from there, with Inter having an option for the summer.

“Jonathan will go to Deportivo Maldonado, we have an agreement,” Guillermo Calleri revealed, speaking to Calciomercato.

“After that we’ll look for the best solution for him. The lad wants to play in Italy, but he needs a club which will focus on letting him play.

“Palermo are interested in him, and playing for such a big club, with a Coach like [Guillermo Barros] Schelotto would be perfect for him.

“We’ll see if a deal materialises. The process for acquiring dual-nationality is almost complete. By the 28th of January I’ll be in Italy, and Jonathan will be an EU-player in every respect.

“In my opinion, Inter didn’t show proper interest in Jonathan. The deal with them won’t be done, and therefore Bologna have pulled back too.”

You could be right about that mate, although Rebrov has removed any chance of the same reason being used as to why he wasn't sold in his interview the other day when he stated that all players could leave should the right bid come on and that the club has cover and plans for anyone who does leave in place

Rooney still has it mate. 30 is by no means the twilight of anybody's career either.
Lots of talk of him being past his prime and surplus to needs though. Part of me is tired of us always going for players in decline or no longer cutting it (Gascoigne, Ginola, Neville, Eto'o). The only time this worked out was Kanchelski who was certainly not past it but deemed surplus by SAF. At the same time, I understand that Rooney is an exception: a blue who still describes himself as such (see his tweet after scoring against RS this weekend) and he might want to prove all doubters wrong (particularly toffees). But he needs to come now or summer. I'm with those who just think genetically he hasn't got a long career ahead of him like Giggs. I know that sounds silly but his body just looks kind of shot to me.

Aye i think that was the figure being quoted - hence waiting for Naismith to be sold etc, interesting if Kiev have just done a blanket 30m value to anyone approaching

Just translated that article:

"According to reports from Ukraine Yarmolenko Dynamo Kiev club wants its main players do not transfer before the upcoming second round of the Champions League against Manchester City. Anyway scares the Borussia also the release demand for the players, the (then in the summer) is likely to be hard to get under 30 million euro transfer fee. Jarmolenkos market value is appraised at approximately 25 million euros."

Sounds to me like its hands off altogether in January, and 30m if you want him in the summer.
