Anyone know who the Colorado Rapids #1 keeper was and if this is true?

Edit looks like it is...

TORONTO - Toronto FC has acquired goalkeeper Clint Irwin from the Colorado Rapids in a trade.
The 26-year-old Irwin, an all-star last season, has started 87 games with 25 shutouts over the last three seasons for the Rapids.

Toronto gave up its highest third-round pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, a conditional 2017 first-rounder and targeted allocation money.

MLS sides trade TAM as assets like players, they could also use this to lure in a player from another side that is actively seeking a DP. Plus, there should be GK available in the league--FCD for instance drafted a GK despite being rather deep in the spot.

This all to say--not that Howard to Rapids is off, but this isn't necessarily evidence that it's imminent.

MLS wouldn't buy Howard to appeal to Americans who watch football regularly, but to attract people who watched thirty seconds of USA-Belgium highlights three years ago and concluded that, as an American, he is obviously the greatest "goalie" who has ever lived. This is why MLS would pay a premium for him, and why we should set his price based on this commercial value, which exists only in America, rather than his dwindling footballing value.

That's obstructively cynical. The MLS would pay a premium for Howard, but only because he's a known entity to this country, not because casual American fans believe he's the greatest keeper on the planet.

Colorado Rapids fans (and a lot of fans of the MLS in general) rate that keeper that Colorado have just let go as one of the best in the league. Can't see them letting him go without a good reason.

I really is a strange one that...especially when howie has been linked. Any MLS team would do pretty big sacrifices if they could get Howard.

Could it be.....

I still think no way....Howard wont be going like this. He's big in this club. Will have testimonial and all at some point...

Player needs to be in his prime: we've already had these "old heads" in the twilight of their careers. We need a player in his mid to late twenties who is a leader and who has won stuff. Huge ask obviously.

Rooney still has it mate. 30 is by no means the twilight of anybody's career either.
