No deal, he's got a touch of the Jeffers about him.

Yeah I know it is but we won't let him go in January. Also, Lampard, Pirlo, Villa all joined at that stage and don't forget, American football fans over there see Howard in the same esteem.

As an American, I can tell you this is quite untrue. Nobody I know who follows football would put Howard on the same level as those guys. Not even close.

Not having a go, but I'm seeing many opinions about how U.S. fans rate Howard so highly, but none of these comments are actually coming from Americans. So I'd ask that we stop making assumptions on this.

We will if you take him back to his homeland :)

One linked to the other? Are we waiting to bank the Naismith fee before going ahead with the Byram deal?

I'd like to think we have 4 million without worrying about selling a player first but who knows..

Cause we do, but Everton work different to most clubs,we always want no risk deals. It's very rare when we just buy a player without trying them out first. That's why we don't get new owners as our current ones won't risk selling.

That player is Rooney mate - and it's the only one that's realistic for us. But not in this window.

Yarmolenko is quality, like, and I hope we get him in.
Player needs to be in his prime: we've already had these "old heads" in the twilight of their careers. We need a player in his mid to late twenties who is a leader and who has won stuff. Huge ask obviously.

MLS wouldn't buy Howard to appeal to Americans who watch football regularly, but to attract people who watched thirty seconds of USA-Belgium highlights three years ago and concluded that, as an American, he is obviously the greatest "goalie" who has ever lived. This is why MLS would pay a premium for him, and why we should set his price based on this commercial value, which exists only in America, rather than his dwindling footballing value.

Anyone know who the Colorado Rapids #1 keeper was and if this is true?

Edit looks like it is...

TORONTO - Toronto FC has acquired goalkeeper Clint Irwin from the Colorado Rapids in a trade.
The 26-year-old Irwin, an all-star last season, has started 87 games with 25 shutouts over the last three seasons for the Rapids.

Toronto gave up its highest third-round pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, a conditional 2017 first-rounder and targeted allocation money.
