Everton Transfer Thread 2016

It would only be bizzare if he hadn't had a bad run of injuries in the past two years and if he had done more with his spells coming off the bench. I like Mirallas, I do. However he won't track back well (as does Geri) and to have two of them in the team makes us so open out wide. So that leavces a choice of Deulofeu and Mirallas.... Who has deserved to start?
We had a lot of games though that he was available for....even when we were shipping goals...so its not like the others were doing great in their defensive duties. I honestly don't think he is terrible at his defensive side. He does get back a lot.

I think last season the club were being very careful about bringing him back too early, he seemed to come back 2./3 times and get injured straight away again. He's not terrible but he's not good, he doesn't really want to track back, certainly not as much as Lennon likes too. Saturdya for example, Lennon was going to start to give Stones some protection, which allowed to Mirallas to play (and for the first time this season, be effective).

Bigger picture has to be looked at with Mirallas. Yes he's very talented but I don't think we can have him and Deulofeu on the pitch together often, it's too attacking. I'd agree that others could be seen as doing an average job but we have certainly improved defensively over the past few weeks.

I do think we need another striker, but I am not confident we will get one.
In the summer when the manager refused to sell Naismith there were question marks over the fitness of Kone and of course we were unsure about Del settling back in the second time.Even Barkley had a moderate last season. I think those uncertainties may have made the manager stay with Naismith as he knew exactly what he would get from him.

If Lukaku gets an injury we are in trouble as we then have only one fit striker at the club and for a premiership club that wants to be challenging at the top half that is simply not enough.

When Martinez turned down the Norwich approach for Naismith in the summer he stated that it was because he didn't have time to sign a replacement... he would be contradicting himself not to go out and buy a first-team ready forward now, surely!!!

Introducing...........................Roberto "walking, talking contradiction" Martinez

Fair point

It's all well and good signing these young 'starlets' but we need some substance in the team (when i say substance i mean experienced winner), was reading an article Reedy wrote, and one thing really hit the right note, we need an experienced player to come in and grab games by the scruff of the neck and just get things done.

It's fantastic that Roberto is building for the future but in reality how many of these players will go if we're not successful/winning trophies? At this current moment i think its Lukaku and Stones that are my biggest worry leaving in the summer. Whilst he's very, very good on the ball Stones in my opinion is the most replaceable of the two (may be controversial).

We need a winning player (someone who hates losing more than some like winning) and could do with him this window.

Don't know why i wrote an essay but just needed to get it out hahaha

That player is Rooney mate - and it's the only one that's realistic for us. But not in this window.

Yarmolenko is quality, like, and I hope we get him in.

deffo feel like we need an up and at 'em leader type, who this is ive no idea
