Everton Transfer Thread 2016

if real madrid, juve and inter are interested, he's obviously rated in the right way, but i have a feeling that's mostly due to the euros. There he showed just how good he can be, and exactly the same as bolasie, on their day they look like the best players in the league in their position, but their day is few and far between. Suppose if we have 11 players who can be properly boss, if half of them perform every week we may get away with it every week. Might just be because they were at poor clubs as well.

yep as the whole Newcastle side looked awful for the vast majority of time I seen them. I'm happy to trust the manager with whoever he wants mate, doesn't arse me what we spend as I've seen probably 25 years of Everton barely being able to spend a bean so splashing the cash would make a nice change

Tosh.

@The Esk has explained over and over and over again why the league rules meant that we HAD to sell a player for a big profit in order to create space in our wage structure. The only three players that were viable were Stones, Barkley and Lukaku. Of those three, Stones was the easiest to replace (and indeed HAS been replaced already).

Stek looks to be a vast improvement on Robles, and was cheap as chips.
Gana seems to be a vast improvement on McCarthy and, again, was cheap as chips.
Bolasie is admittedly a big gamble, primarily due to the HUGE price... but let's give him a few games shall we?

The window is not shut yet, and the massive influx of cash this time around (the Sky money) meant that to sign players early in the window would cost HUGE sums (such as Bolasie). I am glad we haven't gone bananas trying to sign every big name going regardless of cost. We have to build a squad, and Martinez spent two years of his three destroying our squad with garbage signings like McGeady, Kone, Niasse, Cleverley and so on... as this window draws to a close I think you will see several clubs revising their valuations of the players they are trying to sell, and we will make a couple more buys. There is no doubt we can afford the transfer fees now, but we still have to keep a sensible wage budget in order to stay within league rules so some players will have to be sold too.

In short: you're wrong, get a grip.
We haven't increased our wages. We've signed Bolasie, Gueye, Stek and Williams.
We have lost Howard, Pienaar, Stones, Hibbert and Osman.

I'm I missing something? It's another reason why it's so frustrating that we aren't signing someone like Hart even if it's for one season.

Yes we have

Repeating it won't make it right. It's just some opinion you've come up with.

I was at all 4 games. We got the exact same points. Fact.

Really? I didn't realise that... Despite me actually saying that I know the points were the same... But... The games weren't the same were they? How many times did we dig in last year and grind out a draw? Last year we imploded on countless times... I know we got the same points ... I said I know that... If you can't understand what I'm saying then fair enough... And if you want to think that our manager hasn't improved our squad ... Then fair enough... But I'm not repeating myself anymore... You have taken a snippet of what I have said and acted like I didn't know we drew and won against the teams last year... Even tho the next line states I do realise that...can't be bothered to comment on this again ... So I won't :)

Only 12 months ago Mcarthy was valued around 20 million with United and Spurs sniffing.

Sissoko looked average for Newcastle, gets relegated with them. Has 3 or 4 decent performances with France...

Sissoko valued £30 million
Mcarthy valued £10 million (less than Jordan frigging Ibe!!)

So Baines and Jags are "top notch" then? If so then why arent they playing for England as 'star players'? I also dont see the media raving about them as its obvious theyre on the way downhill.

You only need to see Baines now compared to 4 seasons ago (at prime age for a player) to know that.

I also havent mentioned anything about Barkleys age. It just happens that he, Lukaku and i think Deulofeu are Evertons best players and 10 years younger than these "superstars" who you think will be top quality at 35 years old.

Since when has playing for England ... Been a marker of a top notch player? Henderson, sterling, Wilshire, wellbeck, Lallana ... All top notch are they? And since when has the media got anything to do with a players ability? Stones was being raved about and didn't play a single minute of the euros...

Mate?

Arsenal have relatively tight purse strings only if compared to Chelsea, City and United... Chelsea don't have purse strings at all.
The teams you have to compare them to are those around them. That's how it works. We don't have tight purse strings compared to Blackpool.

Chelsea have been cost cutting for a while hence them unwilling to spend the money needed for Stones last season and probably also Rom this season.

As I said , at this moment. Things might change in the next few days, but that's my opinion.

Sissoko a goal threat? Lolz

Must have missed all these great performances from him in central midfield he's put in as well. Anyone got any examples?
Other than the most recent Euros? Nope.

I agree with you pal. He's no goal threat, nor is he a playmaker. He is a very mobile midfield destroyer - at least, that's what he does for France. He does almost nothing for Newcastle, and I would not be at all keen on seeing us pay £30m for him. For that money we should be looking at Schneiderlin IMHO.
