Depends if we've got other targets. Plus if it was based solely on playing time, I don't think that we could have changed his mind.
Lets see. Im not confident after this.

If we can't win our next tie then we should be sacking the manager on the spot lolpls don't
great point. We missed out on the west ham lad and bought mori instead. Then how to you draw this conclusion?
I disagree with the logic. A transfer target is a transfer target. Not to mention all the;
"We don't need this backup youngster from Barnsley" - John Stones
"If he was any good, he would have been picked up sooner" - Coleman, Lescott, Cah...
Could go on and on.
Time will tell. I do think we've missed out on this one. We need cover and competition at right back and, his value at us, or where ever he went will go up.
On to the next one Bobby lad. Last time we missed out on a full back like this in Naughton, we picked up Coleman.
I feel the tension rising here.
This window has potential for a proper melt down yet.
We go out to City and its everyman for himself.
He nearly won the league remember.rodgers was on MNF last night saying they targeted stones at right back in that 4-0 embarrassment a couple of seasons ago
To say what though, Byram will get first team action and then when he doesn't play him [Poor language removed] hits the fan.If I was Martinez though, I wouldn't have went public with my intent, or admiration. The player met with the manager, went elsewhere.
That's why, in my opinion, it's not a good episode for the manager.
I might as well end it now if I'm only as tactically astute as Bwendarodgers was on MNF last night saying they targeted stones at right back in that 4-0 embarrassment a couple of seasons ago

This is just like that time Shearer chose Newcastle over us.
Bad journalism. Tomkins is keeping him out unless he's injured so he won't be loaned I don't think. The Evening Standard has reported that Byram is likely to be loaned out by WHU. Jenkinson - on loan from Arsenal - has been an almost ever-present for them this season and, by all accounts, they're happy with him.
If true, it kind of diminishes the 'first choice for West Ham' claim.

Sam Byram was undergoing a medical today prior to joining West Ham from Leeds for £3.7million.
Everton had an offer for the full‑back accepted at the weekend but Byram wanted to think things over and has decided on a move to Upton Park.
West Ham would have preferred to do a deal in the summer as by then Carl Jenkinson’s loan from Arsenal would have expired. However, Everton’s intervention during this transfer window has forced their hand and it is possible Byram could be loaned out for the rest of the season to give the 22-year-old regular football.
Not really, because they would have said to him that Jenkinson's loan ends in 6 months and from then on he will be first choice. We can't make any promise like that, it's not like we're going to sell Coleman in the summer to make way for him.The Evening Standard has reported that Byram is likely to be loaned out by WHU. I was just thinking this very thing. Not really, because they would have said to him that Jenkinson's loan ends in 6 months and from then on he will be first choice. We can't make any promise like that, it's not like we're going to sell Coleman in the summer to make way for him.
