Everton Transfer Thread 2016

There surely has to be a player incoming who can make a difference to the first team, otherwise what is the point in weakening the squad by selling Naismith?

All very well in saying a good fee, but it's only good business if the money is reinvested and we come out stronger for it.

I'll wait to the end of the window before I join in with the euphoria of the sale of a valuable squad member.

Tarashaj cost £3M and Foulds 300K. I can see another arriving as the Byram deal would have used most of the surplus up.

I'd like to see it used on a loan deal for a decent forward.

Wondering if the Rumors re: Gibson and McGeady to Swansea are true - Could Everton just be holding off one week to get through the Swansea game and not face them? Think they need someone like Gibson to replace Shelvey. Whether he is someone we should hold onto is another matter, personally think he is a good squad player/cover - But similar to Naismith wants to get steady game time prior to Euro's. McGeady will not see the field unless there is a massive injury crisis on the right.

Agree someone should be coming in. But do you think at the time Roberto didn't know what kind of cover Kone could provide (not enough time for a replacement comment - at the time Naismith was above Kone in the Pecking order.)? Going forward Kone is the primary back-up with one of the younger players a Third Choice. I would not be happy with that as an option but just curious if that will be the reasoning if no one comes in.

But neither of those two players are helping the squad for the rest of this season Dave so the squad has been weakened.

Surely we didn't have to sell to recoup some outlay on Tarashaj and Foulds?
