Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Cheapo replacement for Naismith, Jon Walters? Hard grafter, scores the odd goal, blue by birth? I know he is not exactly world class, but as a cheap stocking filler i would have him!

.....I think the whole point of selling is to bring in somebody better. He might be a hard case, he might be an Evertonian but I don't think Walters moves us in the right direction.

Well. We never played Naismith. So is there really a point in replacing him?
Exactly how I feel about it, I doubt Martinez is sitting in Finch farm right now wondering how he will replace Naismith.

Going of topic here slightly but where are all these bloody amazing youth team players that have been lauded as phenomenal talent's. Could any of them replace Naismith, Dowell perhaps.

It's tricky, isn't it? It's hard to convince someone to come when you can't ofter them time on the pitch, but you also want to replace Naismith's scoring threat somehow. He did carry the team's goal production for stretches.

Beyond Lukaku, Mirallas and Barkley, there's no one on the team who has proven capable of consistently scoring more than a few goals a season. I'd feel a bit more comfortable with at least one more natural scoring threat.

Question in general about this transfer window.

Surely it's a good time to be buying players from Europe and quite a difficult time to be selling players to other European leagues (due to the exchange rate).

That bs figure being quoted of £65m for Lukaku... if Barca were to pay that now, it would cost them quite a bit more than what they spent on Suarez.

Surely this leaves us in quite a strong position with regard strengthening the team? What do ye think... are the exchange rates relevant at all to us doing business in Europe?

As long as teams are willing to accept payment in the form of IOUs.

I would be staggered if it didn't
