Shane Long is a 1 in 5 goalscorer, wouldn't be much good to us if Lukaku was out injured.

I like Shane Long, a good player for the right type of team. We are not his team though, the truth is, if we lost Lukaku we would be lucky to get a player to replace him, no matter what we spent. Other teams have spent a lot more on strikers and still don't find a player as good. I think when we got him, we hit lucky, a player who seemed to get Everton , who is fast improving and managed to score goals while gaining the experience. It's not often it all happens at once.

Apparently looking at a deal for someone called Fabian Schar, another young centre back I believe.

Apparently signed for Hoffenheim in the summer - for £2.8m - played 12 games. And is 24.

Why the would he leave just before CL games. Makes no sense to me.

Heard a radio where Danny Murphy (yeah OK) was saying the CL things was BS for a lot of players.If the contract they are offered is good enough they'll move.

Not too sure if it's here or there but a quick google of yarmalenko earlier came accross an article/interview from back in june saying he didnt want to move to an average english/italian club.

Good news then,if he looks at our current league position,we're slightly below average.

He might be being blackmailed by Tim Howard but one thing RM knows about is making smart signings.

On a separate issue, I am bit disappointed that the Yarmolenko chat has died down. But hope springs eternal.
