Valencia on loan and a young kid from Sheff Utd is a major major let down. No doubts. I'm sure a final analysis of the figures will show we haven't actually spent that much (Stones money etc). On the face of it we tried for several targets but couldn't get them over the line for one reason or another
Its happened before, but not on the scale of the prices bandied about. Madness. Don't know what to make of it really. Phantom bids or just unlucky! But why oh why leave it until the last day. Brinkmanship which can always backfire (and it has)!!

I'm really trying to rationalize this transfer window as I'd consider myself a rational person! But I feel very underwhelmed and disappointed right now.

I don't think he had any interest in joining us, he's just used us as bait to get a move to another club. If anything we should have signed another midfielder 2 months ago and not left it until last minute.
