Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Id rather see Tom Davies or Kieran Dowell or Liam Walsh get a game before either of them.

Young players need a chance.
While I would have liked more first team ready players brought in, this is one thing we may benefit from. Our academy kids certainly won't be lacking in any heart and will bust a gut week in week out to get a first team place.

If anything, it will certainly answer whether we are sitting on a golden generation or not.

We have replaced 4 released as below and improved squad
Stek for Howard improvement so far
Gana for Osman improvement
Williams for hibbo improvent
Holgate replaces stones
Bolasie for pienaar improvement

That's four signings and one promotion from the youth team who are all improving the squad and all in the starting 11 as it stands
Improvement has been made but not at the pace we needed or that many of us expected. All down to Koeman to now show us how much of an upgrade he is on Martinez.

The time to the January window also provides time for Walsh to properly work his magic and for Moshiri to wield the boardroom axe forthwith. Now is the time we need those rumoured new appointees to take their seats.

Utter joke of a TDD, after Koeman saying he wanted another 3 or 4 signings all we get are a youth striker who failed to score in 11 games and a potentially overpriced backup to Lukaku with an ankle made of glass who isn't even going to be challenging for his position.

Would be interesting to know how Koeman feels about it, bet he's as deflated about this embarrassment as the rest of us

Think I'd rather have Stones back
He didn't want to stay and we got top dollar for him. However, if we don't spend said top dollar in January then we have lost the main point of selling him- FFP restrictions on increasing our wage bill.

It's hard to fathom but the pressure on Everton in the January window is going to be even greater than it was in this one.

Wouldn't take that as gospel. He got everything else wrong this summer.

I will admit, this wasn't the greatest transfer window no doubt but it definitely wasn't the worst either. Many people on here didnt want Sissoko, but now are complaining that we didnt get him. We have a better squad than we did before the season started, better Manager, an excellent Director of Football, a majority shareholder that wants to improve the club too.

Now I'm not saying that im 100% happy with the players that came in or who didnt go out but that's Football guys. Don't bank on a great transfer market in Jan either because if you think that these prices for players were insane then Jan will definitely be worse. No team wants to lose a star half way through a season.

Like Koeman said it will take a couple of years, and yes, we've waited so long for a new owner with loads of money, but remember the players who we want to sign will also want to see how we perform. Any player with talent wants to play European football so we have to get to that level too.

As difficult as it is for all of us (I got only 2 hours sleep because of the dissapointment of yesterdays transfers) we are Blues and things are looking up for us. So get behind the team and give them our full support as most of us always do.

Who knows Niasse might even surprise us with a hatrick ;)

Once A Blue - Always A Blue

Come gather round kopites wherever you roam
And swarms of jarg multis with only ten posts
It's time for you to rage, organise protests and foam
Now the transfer window has closed up

Witsel and mata and berahimi too
I've seen you all gloat as each deal's fallen through
Even elstone isn't quite as suspect as you
Now the transfer window has closed up

Kenwrite haunts your every sleepless night
But where were you all when we were shoite?
We're sitting in fourth and the kids are alright
But the transfer window has closed up
Oh the transfer window has closed up

I see the doom merchants are out, seemingly delierious that the players we went for didn't come. Why not instead try to support your club / manager who as of now are unbeaten in the league With be it 4 players brought in now in the first 11. I challenge the usual club bashers wether they gain more enjoyment through an Everton loss rather than a win. Your the embarrassment not the club.

Didn't get much sleep last night after that shambles but I'm still excited for the season. We've got a good enough squad to challenge for Europe and hopefully we'll be in a decent enough position in January to attract some bigger players. I'm slightly concerned by the fragility of the defence (one CB short and no real backup for Coleman) but this could be a chance for Kenny to kick on, I've been impressed with Holgate too.

I'm definitely not saying that this window has been all sunshine and rainbows but I do think that we are stronger as a team than 3 months ago.
