£100 million in sales or not, how do you go about replacing Lukaku? Even if Martinez could persuade a similarly productive player to join, the wage demands would be crippling.
 
One thing I do trust Kenwright and Martinez with is making sure the players we want to keep stay, if a player like Lukaku is under contract and no clause he isn't going nowhere, like Stones didn't in the summer. With the TV money we don't need to sell for the money, transfer requests mean nothing if they are not excepted by the club. We will have Lukaku at least another season. The days of the Rooney sale are over, also look at WBA they kept Berahino they held on to him after he pug in a request, it shows the poorer clubs aren't bullied anymore by the big boys.

However look at berahino, he's hardly in form, would rather have a (slightly) lesser player doing all he can do, than a worldy who's not performing or sat on the bench like berahino

£100m is difficult to spend, even if we can afford to buy a top drawer player, it's most likely that they won't want to come to us, might have to do a Spurs and buy a load of talented but unproven players and hope they turn out good. It'll be fun though!

It's weird to think we could have £100m for Rom and Stones but it still won't be enough to buy 2 players with the equivalent talent.

it really shouldn't be. you can get 5 £20m players for that, and i don't meant "£20m" like laser markovic. Footballers are full of greed these days and the PL is going to generate some serious money for clubs with the TV deal - we could definitely get top quality players from europe to join us. Just look at recently, west ham have attracted payet, cabaye went to palace, shaqiri to stoke etc. These are pretty big names going to small clubs.

if you look at stones, besic, coleman, arteta, cahill and so on - £100m really shouldn't be that difficult to spend. Also spurs have bought players like lloris, alderweireld, eriksen, vertonghan, van der vaart, soldado etc. since bale went, hardly unproven.
