I believe that if we do not sign at least 3 more players it will be because the players RK has targeted won't come to us and he does not believe that those available are a significant enough improvement on what we have to justify the outlay.

At this point I couldn't care less about incomings really. We have a decent team. Few worries if certain players get injured but OK.

I'm more concerned that Niasse, McGeads, and a few others are still lingering wasting time and money.

We need another striker. It'll come back to bite us if Rom is our only decent CF again.

I don't get the fascination with net spend TBH surely it's better if we've improved the team with negative net spend.

its nothing to do with money Dave, its called squad balancing. its prudent and makes complete sense. Why sell decent squad players and then have rivals or agents renege on deals and leave us short.

We have room though. We're a couple of bodies down on last season's squad so unless Koeman wants a smaller squad there should be no problem in bringing players in.

This happens to all clubs: they all have to put themselves on the line and make a move...especially those who apparently want to make a statement (remember that fanciful notion from early summer - Everton about to announce itself on the world of football again as a major player?).

Net spend is the only practical measure of owner intent where squad affairs matter.
