Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Really really depressing. We had to sell Stones to fund transfers again, even when there is more money shared out in this league than ever before.
I don't believe we had to sell stones, he wanted to go and in the end we had to let him go (probably an agreement from last year when he wanted to go) and it was good money, he was the sort of player we need when we are right up there, where hopefully we will be in 2 years time he's a luxury player. But at the moment it's more important us having Williams who is much better at actual defending.

Who cares. Not arsed to be honest. We did sign 3 good players, today was not the only day you could buy someone.

Half you lot would moan if we signed Messi.

Cheer up...We are boss.
We might not be as strong a squad as we'd like to be, but we are stronger than the end of last season.
Stekelenburg seems more reliable than Howard... improvement.
Holgate has impressed and will provide competition for Coleman... Improvement.
Williams is a proven premiership defender... strong addition to the defence.
Gueye is a workaholic midfielder... improvement on Ossie, Cleverley, Gibson and McCarthy.
Bolasie adds pace, but needs to greatly improve his finishing.
Mirallas looks re-invigorated... improvement on last season.

Yes, a real midfielder playmaker like a Mata or a Fabregas would have been great, as would another proven goalscorer to play with and pose competition for Lukaku.

We're not weaker.

Koeman will be peeved for sure, but that might just be all the incentive he and indeed the squad now need to knuckle down and dare I say it, do a Leicester... play for one another and don't take any BS from anyone this season.

We're currently fourth and before a ball was kicked, lots of us would probably have accepted 8th and a cup run, more probably hoped for 6th and a cup.

The real work starts now.
Circle the wagons boys, defend like demons and hit the opposition hard on the break.

So sissoko and valencia on loan...could be worse. Valencia can be decent and is better than kone. Don't think Koeman will let Sissoko mail it in like he did at the barcodes. Underwhelming to say the least but hardly a disaster
You're half wrong. Spurs nipped us to Sissoko.

Where do you create that analogy from? You are assuming that Koeman has asked to spend money and been told he can't. Mate you're a big contributor to this forum and respect due, but you've made a leap there that makes no sense. Do you honestly believe that Koeman has joined on a promise and gone out shopping and found the rug pulled on him? I'd prefer to think Koeman and Moshiri, at this stage of proceedings, have been communicating constantly and agree on what they should or should not pay for players, and will (take a seat) agree on that. Huge bids have been made.

Naive, or opportunistic to serve an agenda, to believe that Koeman has somehow been duped by Moshiri.

... and there you go.

Was content to let Kenwright and Elstone et al give it a go being bankrolled by Moshiri, but as it stands, they need removing from having any semblance of control within the club. To have come out of today loaning a West Ham reject is beyond. I was fine not being able to attract the likes of Mata/ Witsel, but to be screwed so naively as we have done this past week says everything about the running of this club since the 80s. Missing opportunity after opportunity.
