Bring back Fellani for starters.

Just what we need, another player who runs like he is moving in treacle and can barely pass a ball but is boss at one thing and just throws his hands up when we are getting beat (Wigan cup game) with zero resale value and massive wages.

If we pay £30m for Mings that really would be the final nail in Brands and this clubs coffin. Horrid defender who's about to be relegated yet club demand 50% more than what they paid last summer for him.

I keep telling myself it's all paper talk but know what this club's like.
CB isn't even a priority position sure if we can get a left sided upgrade like Gabriel otherwise all attention on central midfield and right wing/back for me.

Fellaini x Gana is a top 6 midfield. Add the creativity of a Foden and its a top 4 midfield.

Transfermarkt have done a round up of the transfer balances for premier League clubs over the last 5 years.

We have a negative net spend on transfers of £225.42 million. It's actually not as bad as I'd thought it would be but our actual return on that investment is the most disappointing thing, it's just been awful.
While we have bought poorly. Going off that same site over the same period. Bournemouth are £180mil in debt on spending, Villa about 160. Wolves virtually that same as us. West Ham about 200. Leicester about 150. And this is the mad one Brighton 200. Add in Fulham spending a 100mil Last year and getting relegated.

I while it doesn’t excuse the poor player recruitment. It shows how harder it is now, with a lot more teams spending Now. than when Chelsea got their money. And them buying Arsenal’s left back and one of the best in the world. And nearly buying Liverpool’s best player.

That would be virtually impossible now. Say city buying Rashford, Greenwood. Or Liverpool buying De Bruyne. Or Utd buying VVD or Trent.

Interesting was the 5 previous years Liverpool had a debt of 180mil on spending from 2010 to 15. And finished 6th 7th,8th. And had one league cup win to show for it. Obviously the 2014 season they came close to the league. The equivalent over the next 5 years the way prices have gone through the roof, would make that 180. More like 400.
That’s just for all the Reds who come on the site. Who make out they’ve been successful Over the last couple of years on a shoestring budget.

Over the same period Everton’s debt on spending was something like 10mil and We finished above them twice.

I think the worrying thing is we are being linked with high risk, high cost players again;

Morelos from Rangers, scores consistently in the scottish league, but to me it is like league one level up there and his attitude and temperament are up there with Ballotelli.
Tyrone Mings for £30m from Villa if they go down, I think he is an OK defender, but I think he is overpriced, villa paid £20m for him last summer
Under from Roma for £33m, he has only been OK in Italy, still only 22, could improve, but could just as easily go the other way and we would be stuck with a player on massive wages no one wants.

I guess there is not really an easy solution to it, I just hope we dont offer these guys ridiculous wages and we get players in with the right attitude
While we paid 28 for iwobi, which looks bad, Kean was 19. Still doesn’t look great buy
Gomes for 22, I think most thought it was good value.

But I didn’t expect Brands to pay 30 for Mings. Or 33 for Under, especially it the current climate

We can't even offer prospective signings Europa League.

All we can offer is over-inflated wages for non-elite (top four players) which in turn breeds a mentality of 'I've made it here, down tools'.

It's got to be done organically through our youth ranks & young hot prospects. Our DOF Brands (who I thought would be a masterstroke) looks like he's making a pigs ear out of it.

No such thing as current climate. Top dollar are still going out for just about every player.
Ziyech - 44M
Werner- 49M
Tincao (La Liga) - 33M
and a ton of 15-20M people for guys who are literally on the bench

Ok. Sound I dont care either. However I'm saying I personally dont think he's good enough. You saw our abortion of a midfield yesterday. Put him in instead of either Davies or Siggurdsson and the levels of improvement versus the cost aren't worthwhile. The juice isn't worth the squeeze.
I like McKennie. Fantastic in the air, loads of energy, loads to work with in terms of turning him into a top midfielder. Completely different to anything we have at the moment though

We convinced Ancelotti to come when we were effectively fighting relegation. We will be fine.

I don’t know about Tincao, only that’s he’s a young Portuguese player.

Ziyech was £35.

And 49 for Werner is a bargain. When you think that’s what Bournemouth quoted Chelsea for Wilson Last year. And the kid from Lille is apparently going for 70mil
