Don’t forget our only signing so far is Nkounkou, a young French player from Marseille. It remains to be seen if he can live up to the high standards set by illustrious u23 predecessors like Magaye Gueye.

...the strategy of buying promising youngsters is low risk, high reward. DCL, Stones, Holgate, Branthwaite et al. Those might not be French, but in the scheme of things Magaye Gueye doesn’t matter.

They seem to be waiting on Havertz.

They signed Werner due to his release clause expiring.

But sure, use a club who recently had a transfer ban.
Does Brands have a telephone ban? I wouldn't like to think that he's going to wait until October before making moves.

Also, I'm a bit gutted that they've gone back to letting the transfer window run into the season. Defeats the object for me.

No choice really given the break between seasons is so short.

@ForeverBlue92 leave Mina alone you whopper lol

You always have some take that we disagree on, whether it be Dom which thankfully you have moved on from or others (pretty sure it was gomes at some point) , do you thrive off taking positions that will cause arguments?

I highly doubt ANY cb’s will leave the club no matter who we bring in, and if we take off our purple patch specs, if it HAD to be somebody it should be the mentally fragile Keane who plays well only 4 times a year and only performs in a set up that doesn’t suit Ancelotti’s usual MO

He wont be waiting till October before making moves.

But realistically I expect a few deals to go to the wire.

Atleast you know when you are wrong lol

buying one or two youth galacticos a year.. been my mantra since Moyes days. Push your stall out for a teen who costs real cash... the upside is huge if it pays off... and if not still has significant value. Kean is another .. cost real money.. huge potential!

And im not making excuses for Brands, he lives and dies from this window.

But the window runs till October 5th, not the middle of August, some people really need to realise this.
We need priority positions in for preseason though namely central midfield and right wing especially(we have plenty of CBs if needs be).We saw what waiting till the last week did with Gbamin, there needs to be a bit of settling in especially with a shorter break this year. Additions to that I am less concerned about them coming slightly late. But too often we wait till the last minute to save money.

What did we see with Gmblammo?

Its complete horse manure that signing him late caused the injury.

And of course we do it to save money.

You act like clubs enjoy spending millions for no reason.
