It screams we are absolutely skint this is going to be a car crash.
Well look we probably don’t have loads of money no, but if we get Allan in any other decent depth in midfield is only a bonus. Florenzi is also a decent option for the right and he’d be either cheap or on loan. I don’t see too much wrong with business like that, we’d all love the young 23 year old for £45m but we just can’t right now, I’d rather get old players who actually improve the squad at least in the short term than stay with what we’ve got and moan.

Fact that we are back in talks with Napoli over Allan suggests to me that the Gabriel situation has reached it's climax. I would imagine we stood back until that was dealt with before pursuing here.

Florenzi would be excellent, on loan at Valencia, so if we could get a loan deal he would fill in the RB gap as well as the capacity to play RW and CM. Versatile. Was the captain at Roma, so another leader that we desperately need!

Was their a reason why Roma loaned him out mate?

So Napoli can leak fake stories about Dortmund and Atletico wanting Allan in order to attempt to drive up the price, but we cant leak fake stories about wanting Florenzi and Doucoure in order to attempt to drive down the price?

We are likely looking for just one older experienced midfielder. But in order to do it right you dont keep your eggs in one basket when that basket starts to play games.

Mate think we need to sell a couple of deadwoods too.

Fair point mate.

From what I gather, he's excellent squad option due to his versatility but not a first-choice in any position. I'm not so sure on him as if he's struggling to cut the mustard in Italy it doesn't fill me with hope that he'd settle here. We don't need any more squad players.

He has 35 caps for Italy, was the captain for Roma and still in the last squad of Italy so guess he will be a good addition on loan.

agreed, Florenzi could well be the new Sidibe as a stop-gap on loan but we do need to find a RB to develop for the future in u23 similar to Nkounkou at LB. Judging Allan and/or Doucoure really depends on fee, wages, contract length & who we can move (eg if Delph, Gylfi left it would look more logical). I would personally want a younger CM like Sangare but it does seem that the club retain hope with Gbamin. Quite a few close to the club also seem to think the future for one/both of Iwobi & Gordon may be CM in a midfield 3 rather than wide in a 442 so that might be another factor in their thinking.

Oh of course. Sorry I worded that wrong, I’m not one of those people that actually think Moshiri has no money or anything like that, we just can’t spend it for various reasons. Like anyone else I’m a bit frustrated with how the windows going so far but it’s obviously best for the club if we get rid of the most of what we can with the deadwood before bringing anyone in that just makes sense. What little value they have will be lessened if other clubs see us spend money on players and become desperate come the end of the window to get rid of the rest off the wage bill.
