It could be we are getting quoted ridiculous fees for the likes of Aarons & Dalot, just to name two that have been linked. If this guy is cheap or a loan, maybe they see it as a decent signing for a couple of years.

I can dismiss some bit-part player for Atletico.

I’d rather play Kenny than have an ageing player on higher wages who we’ll be wanting to shift next year but won’t be able to because no one will buy him.

We’re now a sell-to-survive club, we need a model of buying young players to then sell on. Buying old hasbeens leaves you like Sunderland.

Loan is fine but definitely should not be buying.
