Doucoure aside I’d be happy with a Branthwaite loan to Watford. They’re a physical side that would suit him well and hopefully develop him even more in that respect, the lads already a specimen. Watford will probably play out a bit more than a lot of the other Champ teams which will develop that side of this game and they’ll also probably come straight back up so there will be a good team drive and spirit.

Also gives Gibson a reward for his good loan showing and we get to see if he’s going to cut the mustard at the top level. In effect if it goes well we’ve gone a long way to develop our centre half pairing for the next decade or so.

It’s the perfect insult to their fans after their invented rivalry with us. You can develop our fourth choice centreback on loan in the championship whilst we buy your best player again.

...it’s a gamble, it’s always a gamble and it’s why I prefer us to keep our best young players here. The other po8nt with Branthwaite is he’s just undertaken a major change in joining us, it might be difficult for him dealing with a 2nd upheaval in a short space of time.

if the rumour is correct, it could be more to do with how desperate Brands is to acquire Doucoure.

I think if he was a more experienced player there could be a loan fee involved mate, I just don't see that being the case now though.
