Getting a middle finger on this post is... discouraging...
He really isn't, been too consistent for two years now to doubt him, especially for teams in Italy. He's chatting crap , same rehash for the past month.

If we play 4 at the back then we need to have 8 defenders in the squad.
In addition, if were aiming for a mid-high line to enable all these new midfielders to play outside of our half then those defenders need to have pace.
Currently we have, Holgate, Digne and Nkounkou (possibly branthwaite) who have above averave mobility.
Thats 3 out of 8 defenders.
So, if we dont improve our defence with more athletic and mobile players our defence will need to sit deep. That means our midfield will also need to sit deep....and then our forwards are also deeper or isolated.
I think that unless we sign a very fast CB or a rapid RB then we'll be mid table again no matter what midfielders we sign.
Unless we go full Mourinho every game.
They'd probably prefer 15m.25 and Besic
Doubt itMoist
Nope, that was pre-Brands, in this case we will get him for about 27, because Brands will wait them out knowing they have to sell him and he has already chosen us. The owner of Napoli hates Carlo and wants to stick it to him so theyve refused to be reasonable so far, so it will drag out and then Brands will throw in a couple of million as a token "increased bid" which they will then accept with a week left.Well if we have offered 25 and they want 35 then its obvious to everyone what will happen, we will meet at 35.
5G towers. How come Allan is now worth 5m more euros than he was the other day
8 defenders in a perfect squad or even a fair one, yes. But at the moment the team does not have a half-decent midfield, does not have a clever winger..and no goals. These are the issues that have to be fixed first.
You emphasis speed in defence, a fair point but what about aerial ability? Holgate is improving but average and is a trade-off between speed and weakness in the air. My starting two woul be Mina and Keane plus a low defensive line but that's my opinion. Ideally I would unload Pickford at a profit but that may be a day-dream too. A right-back is the only defensive spot that needs attention now.
Allan, Doucoure, a top winger plus a laonee at right back would be a brilliant summer.
The team doesnt have a "half-decent midfield" youre right, it also doesnt have a defence which isnt so much the sum of its parts but as strong as the weakest link. Thats evidenced by Coleman and/Sidibe + Keane being targeted by opposition players each match.
Ive not seen any evidence to show that Keane/Mina can be a successful partnership. Neither player looks comfortable on the left and neither are vocal nor positive playing out from the back as Ancelotti seems to favour.
The only reliable players who tick those boxes seem to be Holgate (better on the right) and Branthwaite (still young) with possibly Gibson to take into account as well. I also dont think Holgate is "average" in our squad, hes head and shoulders above Mina and to compare him with Keane would be like comparing Koeman and Kendall.
Hypothetically though, lets say we did go with your suggestion of Keane + Mina + Digne + a new right back all in a "low defensive line".
We then add in Allan + Doucoure + a winger (as you wrote) in midfield. The starting position of that midfield almost certainly would need to be sat within our half of the pitch.
Thats the drawback of a lack of defensive pace.
The forwards would also then need to be deep or isolated (which is why teams used to use this tactic and play long ball OR a very slow buildup to move up the pitch). So this negates the threat of the forwards and almost sets up like Burnley but with better forwards.
If it was me, i would sell Keane + sign a carbon copy of Gabriel (or even Tomori on loan as hes rapid) then bring in a right back with pace (Emerson/Aarons).
Those 2 signings would mean we could actually play a VERY high line halfway up the pitch as we know our defenders are faster than most forwards. The amount of offsides would be much higher and in turn, our midfielders would be in the opposition half.
For me, i would have gone Gabriel (LCB) Emerson (RB) Guimaraes (DM) Sarr (RW) or similar. All young high potential positive signings to continue the rebuild of the team.
Allan is top quality and Doucoure adds energy and goals BUT neither of them are more than a 3 year stopgap.
Seeing us sign those 2 and Arias is almost like a 'pause' in the rebuild and we would really need to focus on u21 players to develop for a spend of £70+mil on stopgaps to be worthwhile.
I think its laughable you consider Holgate, after 1 season and Branthwaite, 3 or 4 mistake-filled games, as reliable players, but then throw shade at Keane, who was head and shoulders our most reliable player after the restart and Mina who starred in a World Cup a few years ago.
Laughable.
Im not saying Holgate is a bad player, I like him a lot, hes got bags of potential, same for Branthy, but judge them on their talent, not their age.
We have plenty of young players, in most positions, signing a few experienced players wont pause anything, if they all perform as they have through their careers they will improve us, short term yes, but by then we will no doubt have players ready to step in.
Young players wont stay much longer than 3 years anyway, yes we will get a resale, but you are the 1 telling us we lose 18 players over the next 3 years, so we should have plenty of wiggle room to pick up a few younger players, which is what Brands has stated we will do.
Carlo aint here to build a long term squad, hes here to compete, next season, he aint here to babysit.
I think this is unbelievably harsh.
