well said

I can tell you this right now, if we sell Pickford we won't get better than him at this current juncture

pretty much all the top keepers are already at top clubs

If people think we can sell Pickford and replace him with a Fabianski then they are going to be in for an unpleasant wake up call

I'm almost at the stage where I want us to sell Pickford actually. People need to learn

Football is going through a major transition mate. If Donnarumma is a possibly I'd say he was a massive upgrade, and would even say Meret would be better than him.

If that’s their opening offer I actually think we could push them to £50m, and we should be ripping arms off for that. We can get a better keeper for half the price, and this will be our absolute last opportunity to make a profit on him. I hope to god this rumour has legs.

Don't get cocky mate and take the £43m. Don't care for 7 more.

I think you'd have to pay a fair whack for Dubravka now. I actually think though he's really good. I don't see him making many mistakes and seems to have a real presence on goal, looks a big lad.

In general I agree re the media, but there's definitely a campaign against Pickford, not because he plays for Everton but because he plays for England. Most England fans don't seem to like Everton players being in their team, and generally try to make our lads scapegoats.

Im not sure why Dubravka would leave the barcodes to come to us, unless their takeover doesn't go through. I think replacing Pickford will be tough, we have Steklenberg is going as well. We are bound to be linked with David Ospina and Alex Meret from Napoli, becasue we have been linked with almost every other Napoli player since Carlo joined. I could see us going for Nick Pope at Burnley, mainly for the premier league experience and Burnley would need the cash

Weird that Meret has fallen out of favour- doesn’t seem like it was down to form. Gattuso has had a few of these fall outs with some of Napoli’s better players. They are very obvious links due to Carlo but if we can snap up Allan and players like Meret whilst their values are reduced thanks to fall outs, I’d be more than happy to pounce. That being said, I am still not earmarking GK as the absolute priority. If we find someone willing to stump up decent money for Pickford...things change

There are lots of factors to be considered when you look at who will be spending money and they are not all football related.

The first question relates to FFP and if that will be relaxed because if not then all clubs are restrained by the same financial strait jackets as before.

The second question relates to the wealth and earning power of the clubs owners. We have seen that in the case of two American owners (Utd and Arsenal) they have used their Premiership clubs as cash cows. Going forward it is unclear yet how well any individual owner will come out of this crisis financially and if they will need to draw money from one asset to prop up another. This is true of all clubs not just those named above.

The big clubs are undoubtedly getting hit harder than anybody as they have huge squads with enormous wage bills, their earning capacity on match day is greater, their , their sales of gear in club shops is greater, I would think their earnings are cut to a tiny fraction of what they were, I would this is especially true of Utd, City and Liverpool in particular.
Liverpool will also be down about 40m as a result of their exit from the CL.

Regarding Everton, we are getting hit as hard as anybody. If Usmanov does have a real interest in pushing Everton to the forefront of world football then there will never be a better opportunity to do so as it certainly is going to be a buyers market in the coming window.

Takeover or not we are a bigger club than Newcastle, with better prospects, a mjuch better team and manager.

There is a question of a plan B is he wasn't an option. I think Meret ticks a lot of boxes, and I like Italian goalkeepers.

Well donnarumma has 1 year on his deal and Meret is out of favour so either way two options.

Possibly Lunin from Real who we moved for before...

All keepers make errors but not all keepers make the sort of errors this dude makes.

Thats what happens when you debut at 16 and play 200+ games at 21.

I think Lampard may be keen to go for young English players as he seems to be going down that route.

Otherwise i think Pickford has under performed really when he should be amongst the best hes very rarely putting in match winning performances.

The only answer to a cheap, class keeper to replace T-Rex:

Least goals conceded in the league...down to him ?
