Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

Same. It's not really just DCL - Rich is the back up for him really.

It's the fact that we play with a proper three now upfield and that means we need options – options that don't drop the quality so much.

Look, none of our other players come close to James, so that's fair enough, but we need the drop off in quality to be much less than it currently is.

To get to the next level, that's what you need to have in your squad.

Its mental that we went into this summer with 1x RW - it was universally agreed we needed another- so we got James in then booted Theo leaving us with 1x RW lol

Not replacing Kean still baffles me - unless we are waiting on offloading Bolasie/ Sandro first

Thought we might have got a few more out of the door. Especially Sandro. And thought Bolasie and Besic would go too. Maybe they might go to a Championship team before 16th Oct.
If not, January or next summer they're off the books at least.

Like I said to @Connor last night, I didn't want this all window. All window I've been saying i don't want Moise Kean - one of Europe's brightest prospects this time last year and someone we grafted hard to get here - to leave, and us to bring in a 28-year-old King who, for the record, I think is half-decent.

But we are where we are and I think it's naive in the extreme to go into the rest of the season with just two options for up front but also the drop off in quality being so great if we get 2-3 injuries (and we already have seven of those).

Then again, January is actually 8 weeks away which I have kind of forgotten to think about.

It's just frustrating in a way as I think one more real top quality player and we've got a squad that can really do something this year.

13 weeks away to January, but there are rarely any good players available.

I just feel we always end a window one player short and one injury away from a big problem.

King is good, and at 12-15m I think its a no brainer.

Romero today would have been the icing on the cake. It’s ironic our brilliant start to the season means united got cold feet and they’re paying decent money for a 3rd choice keeper. Delighted with our other business, but pray we don’t suffer injuries in the striking positions, you only have to look at city to see the impact that has made.
