Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

I haven't a problem with them going - but to sit here chortling that we haven't replaced them is absolutely ludicrous.

Why is it on here that you can not offer any valid criticisms without having some form of agenda?

Brands had a good window I've admitted that - but it hasn't come without faults and leaving us light up top is one of those faults. To point that out and it being some kind of heresy is the sort of cultish crap you see on RAWK with threads being locked because someone doesn't agree everything in the house of Kopite is wonderful.

Its just bizarre.
Laughable that you talk about agenda.

We have 8 attacking options in the squad, we haven't left ourselves short.

Every team in the league would struggle if they lost their best players, we are no different.

I wouldn't count Simms, as he's yet to make the bench this season so it's 29 really.

Loessl, Besic and Bolasie are surely on their way out soon and I think we'll let Branthwaite on loan if he's fit. If not, he'll go in winter.

Then we have the magical 25 number.

Getting it down to 25 was fairly unrealistic so 26 would be good enough for carlo imo, especially as they weren't expecting to buy a keeper this summer, and probably not two left backs either as i think baines' retirement was a surprise.

we have his seal of approval, we've completed the game.

It's the arrogant authority which he tries to project that is sickening.

He doesn't have the actual figures, he just uses the public numbers, which can be incredibly unreliable. Some are still reporting we paid £25mil for James, others that it was a free. His data is all speculative, yet he presents as if it has been audited by PWC. Give it a break, son!

King would be ideal. He would do a job when called upon and he can play across the front three so he'd be cover for both Walcott and Kean. He's also different to DCL which is nice. Maybe send Branthwaite the other way on loan
I should think that Carlo will only bring in players he knows are either already good enough or sees potential he can develop. It's probably pretty obvious that he wouldn't have sanctioned moves for some of the players bought in prior to his arrival.

We play with 3 attacking players

Richarlison DCL James

Iwobi covers Richarlison

an 80% fit Tosun whos crap covers DCL

We have no natural right sided player who covers James

You can dress it up as much as you like but we are short up top and are relying on no key injuries otherwise its chopping around with much less quality.

Seems like you're being deliberately ignorant here:

Richy covers DCL

Gordon/Iwobi/Bernard cover Richy/James

Loads on here have been clamouring to see Simms for ages, but when it suits their agenda they'd rather bang on about Tosun being an option.

If any of the permutations come to pass that see us having to dig that deep into the squad, that's nothing more than a massive slice of bad luck that no team in the league would be prepared for.

As I keep saying, that leaves us is the same position as every single team in world football.

Injuries to key players leaves every team short.

If DCL is injured we play Rico.
If Rico is injured we play Iwobi
If Hamez is injured we play Rico

If all 3 are injured we get relegated.

Anyway, like hell I'm gonna read you crying for the next 6 months.

We only have 8 attacking players in the squad.

What happens if all 8 get injured?

I think it's more in the number 9 position where we have the issue. Ancelotti clearly sees Richarlison wide left in a front 3. He can cover DCL's position and very well, but it disrupts the balance of the system. Ideally, we would have had someone who can come in to cover DCL without disrupting Richarlison's role. It's not a major problem, but 2 injuries and we are in big trouble.

I'm sorry, but if we are left to depend on Tosun later in the season, then we are in big trouble.
