I reckon he has mate, he has done it before so why not now? the only person defending him is his mum/agent and she is as trustworthy as the average kopite. People have complained about Kean and his attitude issues (i agree btw) but this guy is tenfold compared to him and hardly much of a player either.

Anyone with a family member as their agent needs swerving.

He isn't a PL level player right now. Sign him and loan him to the Championship or a lower level PL team for a year or two and we are talking, but considering either Longstaff, but especially the younger one, for next season's squad is not good enough.

So we have one group stating that he's such a problematic footballer that his value should be near zero. Then we have another that thinks he's so super duper that he's beyond Everton's reach.
I'm in the third group. The one that believes he is obtainable and would be A massive BELL END to Everton.

What? Do you actually think every PL team is smart enough to not sign someone not good enough for the league and try to play him? Cuco Martina happened. It happens all the time. I don't think he's a PL level player but that doesn't mean I wouldn't look to loan him to the best league I could.

Of course I wouldn't actually sign him to start if it was up to me.

Both longstaffs are lower end of the league in quality, only bigged up because the horse punchers will jump on any small morsel of hope they can and claim them as the next messiahs

He genuinely wouldn't. Newcastle play like we did under Big Dunc but all the time. The midfield does nothing of note. No chance he would be ready to come into a side that actually passes the ball.

As far as prospects go, it is pretty easy to do better abroad.

I think the biggest problem Tom has is he is in between roles. He isn't good enough defensively and passes too aggressively to play deep, but isn't good enough a passer to play as an attacking player. 4-4-2 won't suit him either. Yes, he probably isn't good enough at keeping the ball to be a top half PL midfielder, but it also will never be easy for him if he can't find one role to fill consistently.

But compared to Longstaff, who is basically allergic to the ball, Tom would still be the guy.

I like Tom as a person, a bit of a character. But football wise I have seen no improvement. He loses the ball too easily, has not built up his physical strength so always seems to struggling with the ball when challenged. Been hoping he would kick on but it hasn't happened
