Unless Roma are forced to sell for financial reasons, can't see this happening. He's from Roma, gone through the youth system and re-signed for them a couple of years back. Read a while ago that he said his dream is to go on and captain them - which he's next in line to when Dzeko moves on.

Apparently they do need to sell. Also he has a release clause. Obviously doesn’t mean he has to leave.

It is always a worry with midfielders coming from Italy and I personally don't know the secret to telling who can and can't do it.

...yep, was thinking more generally about young players from Italy and couldn’t really remember any that had done well in the PL. I’m sure there are examples, but can only think of the likes of Zola at Chelsea who were more experienced.

....I expect they were uncertain themselves in that they let him leave once and only bought him back because of a buy-back clause in the transfer.

He’s a good age and size, much more mobile than Gomes.
