Why would Vertonghen or Willian not see it that way?

Willian still puts a shift in for chelsea everytime I have seen him play for them. Vertonghen as a defender will likely still have a few more years in the tank.

...yep, Turkey looks likely. Already set for life, now it’s something like a £1.5m signing fee, £20k per week for another 3 years.

I’d prefer Vestergaard from Soton tbh, but overall I think there’s better CB’s out there who would come here. Although I think our defensive problems (last 2 games aside) would be eased by improving the midfield vastly.
