I’d prefer Vestergaard from Soton tbh, but overall I think there’s better CB’s out there who would come here. Although I think our defensive problems (last 2 games aside) would be eased by improving the midfield vastly.

Vestegaard is an absolute lump. My mate at work is a Saints fan and he despises him, said he's so slow and careless it's unreal.

Kessie is a strange one...im up and down on him.

He was class then moved Milan and again really good but i wonder if the last 2 seasons hes improved...lots of problems at Milan and managerial changes.

My feeling is though that a RB is crucial.

Coleman is limited going forward these days which then impacts whoever is at RM. If last night Iwobi had Cafu (lol) going up and down then it totally impacts the threat on that side.

On the other hand, if were going to persist with the RB shuffling to RCB in a 3 when we dont have the ball then that also impacts the RM. We could get away with having a pure attacker there knowing were safe on the counter.

So, although midfield certainly needs strengthening i feel right back affects the whole tactical structure of the team.

I think in a 4-4-2 our crap, one-paced midfield gets exposed. It's the main flaw of the system in my book.

It's a lack of energy/drive which is our real issue, for me, in that area.

Agree RB needs strengthening too but Iwobi long-term probably isn't going to be used on that side. Ancelotti likes one winger keeping the width (usually on the right) and one cutting in (usually from the left).

Get the young lad from West Ham on a free to rotate with Coleman and take over from him next season. Sell Kenny. Bring in two midfielders.

Virginia is young and probably not on alot. Kenny and Kean dont really belong in either.

Kean is 20 years old in a new league and had Marco Silva for half of that time. By all accounts Schalke would want to keep Kenny but likely cant afford him. Virginia I'll be honest I havent seen much of but I doubt his wage is a hinderance

Delusional to think Kenny was poor at Schalke.. First season getting an honest start for a midtable team in a major league.. Banged in 2 goals and 3 assist.. I dont think he was poor. However if we could pull 10-15M for him go for it but lets let Carlo determine that. Virginia similar writing but very true he was bad. Actually was benched. I will stand to fight for Kean and give him the next season to prove himself.
