We need a right forward, dropping Walcott to the bench.

A central midfielder to compete with Gbamin over who partners Gomes.

Keep one of Delph and Schneiderlin. Keep Sigg as he can score goals coming off the bench.

A centre half to compete with Mina and Holgate. Keane as backup.

Choose 2 of the 3 right backs.

Choose the backup for Digne.

. Sigg has to go one way or the other they have to get rid. And I think he’s got one goal this season.

You can’t have Gomes as an automatic pic. We need a CM to come in and be putting pressure on his place. CB I hope we buy some who’s top class.
And I wouldn’t keep Keane. I’d rather have Gibson as 4th choice unless we somehow manage to get 5th.

From the current "active" first team I'd try and sell Siggi, Sneids, Keane and Coleman (and Baines retires)

Buy Koubaily, another centre midfielder and left back(bring back Kenny)

Some of those fit. Power, maybe Saha, Weir I guess. But Reid and Grey were 26 and 28. We're talking about in reference to Willian who is 32.

Even still if the number is 5 or 6 in 35 years, it probably isn't the soundest team building strategy.
You wouldn’t sign Willian on a free for 2-3 years? He’s likely to end up with Barca but you wouldn’t take him at Everton? Odd.

I don't think you should ever sign a player who is going to be a worse player for the second half of the deal than the first half unless the player is likely to push you over the edge and win you actual trophies. Willian is good, but I don't think he's that level myself. So no I wouldn't do it. It's a different equation for a club like Barca.

He’s on a free, fixes a problem area day 1, and allows us to actually invest in other areas that need help. He’d also be one of our top 4 or 5 players immediately. It’s a no brainer if he’d actually consider joining.

And at some point in the two or three years we sign him for he probably becomes not as good. But we still have to pay him big wages for the rest of the time.

Too short term for me. We aren't winning the league next season. We need to sign players that can build us toward top side. It won't happen with stop gap signings.

But he’s not even been that great for Chelsea fir the last 18months. His level has dropped

I wouldn’t rule out all players over 30. I would go for mertens, who’s also 32. But he still seems to be doing the business fir Napoli. Unlike willian
