With all due respect mate, join the club. I’ve had/got my own issues. I didn’t keep a tally chart but I’ve have had more panic attacks than I care to remember, two required an ambulance to be called out.

But so what? I’m not after a medal. But I’m not going to put it on my CV either. And if I did, I wouldn’t be in the job I’m in now, which I’m quite possibly going to lose due to physical health problems.

I stand by what I said the other day, Alex Ferguson wouldn’t have his players coming out and bragging about panic attacks.

Mental strength is a very important quality in football, especially at the very top! You need to be able to cope, and if you can’t then you aren’t good enough to compete at that level.
Being honest about struggling with your mental health isn't bragging and it isn't on his CV. His honestly might give other people the encouragement to address their own issues. He should be applauded, not viewed as weak. It's the opposite of weak to admit you're struggling and ask for help.

Do me a favour, we’ve all got our problems, some an awful lot more than others, and I’m personally not going to lose any sleep because our highest paid player had a panic attack once.

Join the club FFS!

You have to be mentally strong as a footballer, and if you aren’t, well, you end up cacking yourself every time you play a big game, don’t you!

I‘m sorry but having panic attacks is not a good attribute when it comes to being a footballer. It’s not something you look for on a footballer’s CV.

You don’t see having panic attacks referred to on whoscored, and if you did, it would be listed in the ‘weaknesses’ domain. No matter how much you want to virtue signal on the subject.
Koff
Terrible shouts for Ryan fraser is one thing, but using Bernard's openenss about his mental wellbeing against him is awful.

You may not be after a medal but I dont think bernard was either. This is the problem though in a world where you can have same sex marriage footballers that are gay wont feel they can come out because they get attacked for it. That's exactly what you're doing here.

I think it takes strength to say to the public that he is suffering and I also think it will raise awareness of these things which in the long run will help no end of people out.

Some professions are just ruthless. That’s just the way they are, and they are normally the top paying professions, and ones that involve competing against competitors.

If you’re gona demand 120k a week then you need to be able to deal with the pressure. Imagine being a barrister and telling your clients and your competitors that you are prone to panic attacks.

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t demand 120k a week and then go and tell all your competitors that pressure gets to you and that you are prone to panic attacks.
You're on the wind up here.

Which is all great if we were competing with Mencap for the voluntary sector champion of the year award.

But he is actually involved in an extremely hyper-competitive industry. It’s a ruthless industry that has him being paid 120k a week.

You can make out I’m ever so ghastly awful all you want, but I maintain that many a quality manager wouldn’t have their highest paid player making videos about panic attacks in an industry as hyper-competitive as professional football.

It wouldn’t help you if you were a barrister, it wouldn’t help you if you were a surgeon, and I don’t think it helps you as a Premier League footballer. Especially when you are actually a very expensive asset, and your employer really wishes that they could sell you on to somebody else.

This attitude is exactly why so many men bottle it up and fear being open about it. It doesn't matter if you're poor, rich, unknown or famous, mental health should never be used for criticism. Just [Poor language removed] off with this take mate.

This is one of the worst takes ever, Mental awareness needs to be exposed more than ever in today's world, A football player who many young kids and adults look up too will be relived that it doesn't just happen to the regular joe's who work a 9-5 or College but highly paid Footballers or Celebrities.
He's not bragging which in this context is a disgraceful term to use, He's showing that it's okay and can be overcome if you speak up and people are around to help.
Honestly suggest you stop posting before you keep digging yourself in a hole that doesn't need to go deeper.

You’re just a massive [Poor language removed] idiot. Nothing else needs to be said
