Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

I think Tarik Lamptey is very similar but at a smaller club so a bit out of the spotlight right now. He’s a bit more realistic though.

I’d also be all over Louis Sibley before an established top 4 club takes him.

Hadnt heard of Lamptey but heard Sibley mentioned once or twice in connection with Lampard i think.

We definitely should be looking at a decent budget each season for these types to come into the u23s and quickly train with the first team squad.

Actually a bit surprised that the past couple of seasons under Brands that he hasnt outlined a budget of £10mil+ each summer/January to target players for the u23s to be fast tracked.

Surely must be obvious that some u21s in smaller clubs would be able to step up...not alot but for some it must be a no brainer. Even then if they arent quite good enough they can generate a profit for us

Fortunately for City Ffp has been put on hold due to revert clubs loses because of covid
I thought they were in some sort of hearing. Haven’t they been banned but have appealed? The ban is suspended pending the outcome of the appeal.
if it’s upheld, they won’t be playing in Europe for two seasons?
That would make players think twice about joining them. Also it looks like Guardiola is leaving next summer, so the project is not nearly as appealing.

Would anyone take Stones and 20M for Holgate, if it gave us FFP wriggle room to buy elsewhere?
Utter fantasy.
Why would City ever agree to that? Why would they pay for the downgrade? They already have better and more experienced defenders in their reserves.
Even Holgate + £20M for Stones wouldn't work.
We won't pay Stones' inflated wages and what would City do with Holgate?
