Providing we get all the signings we want who do people want/expect to be our captain for the new season?
Will Coleman still get the task and/or Sigurdsson or should it go to Digne or maybe even somebody like Allan?
Just interested in what people think. Is it even important?

Hopefully Siggy won't be in the side mate , and if someone is daft enough to pay his wages , perhaps he won't even be at the club.

Not sure who but not Allan even though his play will be like a leader he doesn't speak a word of English. I wouldn't have Coleman or sigurdson as the captain should be near enough a starter every week, possibly Richarlison (i think he speaks the lingo) maybe someone like Holgate who has shown he has leadership qualities, if only our African prince was still on the books.

Excellent post mate. We have a number of very promising youngsters, but as you’ve alluded to they have been let down by the older pros. Doucoure, James and Allan will offer that experience as well as the additional quality on the pitch, that the likes of Siggy, Delph and Walcott have never provided

Holgate seems like the most natural leader we have. He probably one of our longest serving players now too.

Sigurdson won't be starting so a definite no to that.

Holgate seems like the most natural leader we have. He probably one of our longest serving players now too.

That’s a point. If I had to guess I’d say the 3 longest serving would be Coleman by a mile, followed by Holgate and probably DCL? I know it was Baines and Niasse before they left.

Denis stracqualursi is only 32. Wtf.
That seemed an eternity ago and i thought he was about 30 then.
Same as landon donovan. He's only 38.

I think Coleman will be club captain but not play that much. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if Big Al gets the armband.

I don’t think so. From Carlo’s interview it doesn’t sound like he’s much of a talker.

I remember Strac being much younger than his Frankenstein-like appearance suggested.
