Why would Llorente be a waste of time?
Not every player we sign has to be some young up and comer. He has a fairly unique skillset and the manager knows him. Also he will probably be a bit part player, it's hard to get someone in to do that.

If we replace Kean with Lorente it will be a stupid move. Lorente is not good enough for what we want to achieve. He had a good season with Swansea several years ago and that's it. Getting a quality backup striker is important just ask City.
I don’t think he meant it like that. i don’t remember the exact quote but from the context I thought he was saying that surprising things can happen in the transfer window, rather than hinting that there would be a surprise.

Personally I think we will sign Godfrey tomorrow and that's about it.

Although deals can go wrong at any time , I think that we can take it as read that we have a replacement forward coming in. Godfrey is also a done deal , in my opinion..
Don't have any idea who the forward is though , as Brands keeps his cards close to his
chest , and the club is more professionally run than it used to be. Set myself up for a fall
there , if one of the deals falls through as we will have the usual anti Brands suspects cryarsing all over the forum.

Nobody is worrying that we dropped a clanger in not buying a recognised striker. Up until the last few days we didn't need one. We have the current top striker in the top five European leagues as our first choice and Brazils centre forward as back up. We had a 20 year old Italian International as third choice and we have no European football.
OK, so it's come to light that our third choice striker is unsettled and Carlo has decided that it is best he goes out on loan, so we need a replacement third choice striker. I'm 100% confident Carlo and Brands have this in hand,
However good this Villa lad is he was never on our radar. We can't buy every player who comes available and our need earlier in the window was our midfield. The 3 players we brought in instead of spending money on Watkins are the reason we are now sitting top of the table.
We have not been glorifying in our excellent start. The manager, coaches and players have been working incredibly hard to get us where we are and Brands and the backroom staff have also been working incredibly hard to make this the best transfer window ever.
Now Kean has gone we do indeed need another striker. The chances are the financials will dictate that we bring one in on loan but Mosh may yet surprise us on that score. Even if we don't get one tomorrow there are still some quality players in the Championship we could bring in up until the middle of October.
