Every GK has weaknesses but the one thing no team wants from a GK is unpredictable decision-making. It creates confusion and uncertainty in defenders that spreads across the team. Pickford's focus/concentration issues and tendency to impetuous actions is not just an issue in terms of errors but it is the wider potential unsettling effect on the team that could become the major issue for us. Can he fix it? He is still relatively young but his personality (including behaviours outside football) suggest a general lack of maturity and calm reflection which is not encouraging.
