Anybody who had the first notion of football couldn't believe how well we had done to get Carlo. Getting this man meant we were serious. You don't spend a fortune signing managerial royalty (11m a year, isn't it?) and go cheap in the transfer market. One year later, we sit second in the league and James Rodriguez plays for Everton.
