What a wonderful week for the club!

Three impressive and deserved victories.

DCL seems to be adding to his game all the time. He knows his weaknesses and works at them.

From the moment Allan went off injured against Leicester City, Doucoure seems to have found some instant maturity... After a promising start he'd been a bit disappointing, but his form has not only returned but bettered this week.

Godfrey with the pace of a winger! Also his tackle on Ceballos was brilliant (amazed at how much Ceballos got away with today).

I was thinking that Davies was having one of his better games but he then took on the role of Everton midfielder half asleep from the absent Gomes.

He made a good save towards the end but Pickford again didn't impress me. Flapping at crosses, looking to get involved with the game where he didn't need to and constant giving away of possession when not under pressure.

We do lack creatively currently but we seem a well oiled machine. Hopefully we carry this form through the busy Festive schedule.

I think Ancelotti and the coaching staff could encourage Keane to shoot more often...it could develop into double bluff thing.
Once he gets 'seen' as a shooter, defenders will have to decide if they are going out to block the possibility, which may open up a bit of space, cause a little doubt and confusion, then - Dink, a little ball OTT or out wide - more doubt and confusion.
Easy this coaching lark.

Spot on about Doucoure and also that tackle by Godfrey was an absolute peach wasn't it.

This week has almost felt lie Doucoure and Godfrey have found their place and for themselves feel like they're good enough to play for Everton and belong.

Godfrey was superb tonight again, body positioning is everything and it's x2 as hard as a RB trying to play LB but he was quality.

Everton - I take it all back. To a man fantastic. Could have given anyone mom but shitted myself and went for Yerry Mina.

They were lucky to go in just a goal down at HT and I didn’t really see them scoring all game but for individual errors (Picko! Ffs). I thought we missed James in the first half, when we dominated the ball and needed a bit of magic to show something for it. Food for thought for the ‘how does he fit back in the side’ brigade, which I am definitely partisan to.

Carlo has really corrected the gulf in quality in the squad. Tom Davies is turning into a good 6, defensive awareness improved through games at right back etc and his quality on the ball is undoubted. Despite the mistake for the pen thought he was good today admittedly against a downtrodden and depleted side. Iwobi has developed his defensive side, also RWB experience, and must be benefiting from watching Richarlison’s game. DCL such a threat up top. Very solid at the back, Godfrey is such an exciting prospect and will be unreal when he eventually moves to CB as is his want.

Very disciplined performance but we were more than good value for the win. They arguably should have been down to ten with a Ceballos red and the ref played 97 mins but we shrug it off and win anyway.

How good is it blues?

Can we all also praise our manager. Not long ago people were questioning him. To get this team 2nd at this stage is no mean feat

Consider how these young improved under Carlo:

DCL
Keane
Mina
Holgate
Iwobi
Davies

The latter two only modest improvement but both are ahead of where they were when Carlo took over. DCL is now competing for the GB, Keane has been solid through 2020 and Mina is much more consistent.

All getting better.

Now Pickford....
