What I should have said was "attempting" to run the clock down.
Just to add context, I was replying to a post which inferred that the substitutions were made in order to change the tactics and formation of the team, which clearly they were not.

In the ten minutes between the goals Arsenal were as ineffective as they'd been before. What, a couple of weak corners and a shot that was 5 metres
off target? That's the way it flowed.

Good result, i thought we looked completely in control until the penalty and then we turned into last seasons Everton. Tom Davies was actually playing well up to that point n he lost it completely afterwards, back pass city.
