Oh wow, we lost lol

I missed the game but recorded. Guessing I shouldn’t press play.
Don't do it to yourself mate, it was as bad as it gets, Villa should have had 5 or 6 first half, we attacked as well at times but very poorly, Pickford more than kept us in it.

Having been able to sleep on the performance overnight, one major issue for me takes prominence:

We were level in the game after recovering from the initial mistake by Holgate, which in fairness, all defenders are capable of making. In stating that I accept that the debate as to whether or not Holgate is good enough/can develop is legitimate.

Putting that to one side, for the rest of the game, we showed no sign of posing a concerted threat or any sign that we had a pattern of play which would win the game for us.

Unfortunately, this has been a regular feature of our play this season with 7 draws and 11 defeats.

Taken with the abysmal performance at the end of last season last season, It should now be clear to Carlo and his coaching team that a major rebuild is required as they will not be able to improve the skills/performance of many of the current group.

There are dangers in telling those who fit this category they no longer have a future at the club, as they may decide to sit out their remaining contract and/or simply under perform.

Under such circumstances, it is difficult to see us being able to regularly achieve or sustain a European competition presence for several seasons.

I would love to be proved wrong.

We managed to make Ross Barkley look like Grealish lol
To be Fair, Everton are the team to make a certain player/Team look Brilliant, so many villa fans yesterday said that 1st half at HT yesterday was the best they had played in a few months-And to be Fair Everton have actually had a few oppo fans saying their team had played the best in a while when they played us

Yep it'd about the only thing we are good at - making other teams look so good.

From the 1st minute to the last ww were absolutely dreadful and 2nd best in every department imaginable.

I'm not even sure why I'm arsed anymore, I'm happier when it's anyone but Everton playing these days as we are absolutely dire to watch. There's no plan, no defining feature that makes me think "wow, that's some quality piece of play we've done". In fact, my only interest this season has been because of Rodriguez and he's injured half the time and somehow the likes of Iwobi gets minutes because of it.

On the eye we are definitely the worst footballing side in the top half of the table and when we don't make Europe we'll only have ourselves to blame for serving up some of the worst brand of football I've seen since the likes of Howard's 3rd spell, Mike Walker etc. Some of these players are on close to 100k a week and I csnt believe my eyes that they are paid to be professional footballers when they struggle to do such basics. It literally seems to take about 3-4 touches for each of our players to get the ball under control.

Think I'm nearly done woth togger tbh. The best thing about Everton right now is this forum for me and that's the main reason I'm still emotionally invested in Everton due to its varied topics and having a laugh. Everton have just sucked nearly all the love of football out of me and I certainly don't want my lad growing up to be a miserable old sod watching crap like last night.

Oh Everton what have you done to me ? after 70 odd years I couldn’t take anymore
and actually turned the match off.
I am nearing 60 years as an Evertonian, the only thing I can say about the current load of crap filling our famous royal blue shirts is that they aren’t Everton. The club we support is much bigger than them, we have a long and illustrious history, we have a place in social conscience that transcends football, hopefully with the new ground we have a future.
Currently we have lost our way, we have people on the pitch who should never be allowed to wear our shirt, we even had Fat Sam as manager. These things should never be allowed to happen but they have happened.
It may be the hope that kills you but that is all we have.

What was all that playing to the camera about in the tunnel, looked like they were going for a picnic on Stanley Park.
