Cant believe we lost that...could have had 5 or 6 but for shocking finishing

We huffed and puffed but I didn't feel like we were creating too many golden opportunities. It was really difficult to get space in the final third.

Townsend shouldn’t be starting in the PL for Everton FC, had a completely out of character purple patch at the start of the season but he’s bang average. Drop any of the other players mentioned, hardly setting the world alight are they

Doucure - Allan - Gomez/Gbamin/Onyango (or even Gordon here as a slightly more attack oriented midfielder)

Subs for all of the front 3 if needed.

We didnt fight harder. The stats don't lie. We were very poor.

More possession than we had in nearly all of benitez' games though. Poor finishing yeah but still getting shots etc away. Better performance than the majority of Benitez'

Played well enough to get something from that game.

They only had the 1 chance and we didn't take ours.

The time wasting they got away with was ludicrous btw.

Also, thought Gordon was brilliant when he came on.

Benitez is gone now so we have to get over it and not pass the blame onto to an interim manager

First game this season I can recall that I've thought we've been unlucky to lose.

Allan helped - shame his fitness isn't fully there.

Likewise with Calvert-Lewin really. Worries me we're so reliant on him finding his form/fitness - if he gets another injury we're screwed.
