I struggle to believe any other club in the world would spend £30m odd on new full backs and then elect to play Kenny and Godfrey instead.

We're so reliant on Gray having a good game at the moment. Shame he had an off day.

This season has "David Unsworth Penalty on the last day to stay up" kinda vibes. Be under no illusions, we are in a relegation dog fight Oh and Gordon has to start every game. Only quality shown today was from that boy.

Gordon did well, I thought Pickford was excellent too.

Lots of effort throughout the team but a massive "meh" overall.

Pickford world class on saving offside goals but not big enough on corners!

First game this season I can recall that I've thought we've been unlucky to lose.

Allan helped - shame his fitness isn't fully there.

Likewise with Calvert-Lewin really. Worries me we're so reliant on him finding his form/fitness - if he gets another injury we're screwed.

So we were unlucky I guess, but what I wonder is what happens if we equalize. Because at 0-0 we didn't have a shot and Villa seemed to think they could just hold us out after the break. And that's where we were unlucky, we should have scored, but are we sure they don't start playing with the ball again and just beat us anyway?

This is a longer term thing too, we are absolute crap when the game is level and really only play well once we're behind and teams give us a bit more rope.

Townsend shouldn’t be starting in the PL for Everton FC, had a completely out of character purple patch at the start of the season but he’s bang average. Drop any of the other players mentioned, hardly setting the world alight are they

He's always been hot and cold throughout his career. Anonymous for periods of the season then very good.
