Obviously a better feeling in the ground and fans ere great but as knowledgable fans I think we realised that a touch of quality was lacking in the final 3rd
I voted Mina motm as he brings a strength and confidence to our defence
Gomes missed a few final passes and we were better with Allan on

I hope Duncan has the job until the end of the season as I don’t see a better option

I agree but I also think it's easy to underestimate that thing we call confidence. The difference between a player/team low on confidence and one full of it will never cease to astound me.

Minor point this - but Martinez had the ball in his hands for 26 seconds at one point. Refs need to start cracking down on that.

The only time in my entire life I’ve seen a keeper penalised (as in free kick given) for holding the ball too long (isn’t it meant to be 6 seconds?) was big Nev away at Forest. They scored the winner from the resulting free kick obviously.

Awful memory. Think it was Anderson in 89th minute. Long drive home after that.

Yep 6 seconds mate (should be an in - direct free - kick if they hold it after that) they will only get away with holding it longer if an opposition player is in close proximity.

Looks like we can play no more than two of Gray, Richy, Townsend, Gordon on the pitch at any one time. Not even adding in Iwobi.

If we are sticking with DCL, you pick two others left and right. Not shoe horn them in.

We need that third body in midfield. I'd even give the young lad a game ahead of the attackers.

I thought the defence actually played better today without Keane and Seamus.

Lets be perfectly honest about the game for once.
Villa were really pretty crap in the 2nd half and there for the taking we should have capitalised.
They offered no threat and we pinned them back for long periods only fault is we didnt score , we could & should have had 3.
