I'd be disappointed. If you can't start Patterson in a cup game then why bother?

We know what Seamus is like. And if we get beat he'll be first to say how the team needs to do better! Can't blame him I guess, he doesn't pick the side and he's being given a wage far greater than his influence on the side would suggest. If I were him, I'd act exactly the same. I just imagine the Lampard era will begin with Coleman, still, as our first choice right back.

Frank likes a back 5. Seamus in the middle with Patterson right back I would like to see. He did similar with Cesar Azpi at Chelsea. Problem is he doesn't have good midfield options for this game with the injury and cup tied players.

I would be worried about how slow that midfield is but not much choice. Feel Gordon would be on in 2nd half. Coleman saved for Newcastle which would see a very different team but roughly the same shape. He will have Dele Alli, VDB and El Ghazi to add to his choices then.

Lampard's first game, should be setting them out to get on the ball & on the front foot from the off. Give the crowd an early lift. It's an easy, early win for him.
