Mad seeing lamps celebrate when we do. Im normally devasted when he is celebrating at goodison

Happy with that first half, but the more I see Brentford the more I think they are easily one of the 3 worst teams in the league. Convinced they'll be right in the relegation battle in a month or two.

No big hole in midfield like the way RB played us - only disappointment was Ben Godfrey's injury who. Looks bad for us ....
Allan doesnt cut it at that level. To slow and limited.A better team would have scored 1 or 2 goals with Evertons s..t midfield!

Gomes is still abysmal it seems. Took 23mins to confirm it.
I'm a very anti-Gomes type of guy, wanted him out 'long before it became the mainstream' ?,
but 23 minutes mate! That looks like a hell of an improvement! Earlier he needs about 5 min for that ?
And I must notice he had a decent attempt, and the ball doesn't bounce off him like of concrete wall like it used to be, so I'll take it.
If the Lampard effect evolves further and lasts in the long run, hack let everyone stay! (of course excluding Rondon)

Major differences:

• Engaging the opposition higher up the field

• A coherent pressing strategy involving a narrow front three

• Attempting to play through the midfield rather than launching it long every time

• Gray looking to move into the pocket of space behind the forward, timing of this movement has been good

• Defensive line much higher up the field, allows us to press more effectively

But he struggles when they play us on the counter...looks to me that he his nowhere near full fitness yet.
He always has struggled against the counter. He does work with short passes around the box, and possession passes in the middle third, but he has to have players behind him that can cover the gaps that he just can't.

He's just a limited footballer who is very good at what he does, but is hard to fit into an XI - and doubly hard to fit in when that XI is comprised of various managers' spare parts.

The mental gymnasitics going on here.

Ffs can you imagine if Benitez played this team.

Coleman, Keane, no Patterson
5 at the back
2 in midfield
No youth players

He’d be getting absolutely destroyed.

Lampard does it and it’s a 343 formation and suddenly we don’t have any midfielders (so Gbamin and Onyango have gone from being options to not good enough in a few days?)

The hypocrisy is laughable.

The options available to the manager are just as bad as they were before which is probably why he’s ended up picking a very similar team.
And it's looked tons better than a Benitez team because the set up and tactics are completely different

As anyone with half a brain cell would be able to tell you
