I love this almost what you'd call false number 9 set up. Far more acceptable than than lobbing crosses in hoping for DCL to get on the end of one.

With DVB in the middle as our De Bruyne we'll emulate City;) Second half's a worry now hoping this defence is up to it.

This team with a midfielder like Dele or DVB can be cosy with the ball and dangerous on the counter.

Our front three look threatening
One of them will take Andre's spot.

We can score if we can hold onto the ball and link defense with attack. We have good forwards. Our defenders also look a lot better when they're not perenially under siege, which is true of most defenders.

It was a bit hap-hazard at times but that is where the quality of player at our disposal comes to the fore.

We looked good early on and I think the Godfrey injury knocked us. Shame that as it looked a bad one.

Coleman is utterly woeful at right wing-back but it is what it is. Hopefully Patterson gets a run out at some stage since we have five subs to use.

A bit more composure from the front three at times and we'd be 2-3 up.

Defensively I think we've looked better because we aren't letting teams come onto us howere there's been a few scary moments.

Mykolenko, again, has looked way off the quality we need compared to the left-back Benitez chased out of the club. That being said, he made a really good recovery tackle at one stage.

Andre Gomes is a fine example of a player excelling in a certain system; if you play long direct football, you’ll never get the best out of him. It’s only been 45 minutes but it’s made me to start to wonder whether we’ve been too harsh on Gomes.

He does this often, he’s got ability but he has an absolute stinker in him, proper 1/10 stuff and you never know which version is gonna turn up.

I do mean genuinely 1/10 stuff too, he’s had many games for us that would be considered awful performances in league 2.

On the contrary, he’s been given an easy ride. Absolutely dreadful player that offers nothing.

I would love to think so.

Pleasing signs. Midfield & defence seem more joined up. Much more central play instead of JUST wing play. Mykolenko is good at passing & gets himself in good space & set & ready to receive & give. I look forward to him feeling comfortable enough to drive forward or attack the play more. Usually when we do score we instantly bend over but apart from a few mins we have still been the team on top.
