Brighton try to play the ball so we are going to need more defense in midfield than what you've get there. I'd be surprised to not see Delph or maybe Sigurdsson.

I just dont think Delph's body could handle 2 games on the spin in such a short space and I dont think Gylfi is any more defensive than Gomes.

Until Gbamin is fit I think we are a little thin in terms of defensive reinforcements.

Gylfi at least can position himself. It's a small distinction. I think you have to risk Delph.

This is going to be a tough game if we are missing players, but those coming into the team need to grasp the opportunity. They might not get too many this year and hopefully the competition raises standards throughout the squad. With James playing , we will carry a threat throughout

Hope we dont risk either Richy or Allan tbh.

Rest both and have them fully fit for the derby or game just after.

Wouldnt play Delph either - lads just not fit enough to play 2 games on the trot in the space of 3 days and think he'll end up hobbling off giving us less options going forward.

Pickford

Coleman Keane Mina Digne

Doucoure Gomes
Bernard
James DCL Iwobi

Should be enough to nick a result.
If there fit play them... keep the momentum going... why is everybody worried about the derby reault... Take another 3 points here with strongest team

On the assumption Richy is okay but Allan won’t make it like CA suggests.

My 11:

------------------- Pickford
Coleman -- Keane -- Mina -- Digne
------------------ Doucoure
------- Iwobi ------------- Gomes
James ------------------------- Sanders
----------------------- DCL

RCM is a really tough call... trying to decide between Delph/Davies/Iwobi. Can't see Delph playing behind James when he will already be fairly tired. Needs someone with legs so it's between Davies / Iwobi, picked Iwobi as he's starting to hit some semi-decent creative form and I'd like to see how he goes connecting up with James.

One thing we struggled with against West Brom and their 3-4-3 was the ball going out to the wing backs who had lots of space to move it up field. We have to have an answer as Brighton are unlikely to be as accommodating at the back and we were a bit too open in that one. Without Allan it is even more crucial.

I always think either one of Doucoure or Allan's presence is sufficient to rub off defensive influence on others. Doucoure's timely intercept, turn and dribble fwd always provide the sparks needed and a sense of stability in defence. His presence and link ups will be sufficient for upcoming game.
