BBC sport not taking it well at all - dozens of cry-arse comments from the heartlands of the RS ...

For Everton to win the League they will need 90 + points, the Leicester title win was a freak, it will take a significant drop off from Liverpool, and others for Everton to win the league. Top 4 is a possibility, top 6 more likely. Don't get carried away Everton fans.
Paul, Luton

Folk going on about Everton winning title or top 4 yet any team playing a poor Spurs side, and 3 teams who will finish in bottom 6-7 West Brom, Palace and Brighton would have fancied 4 wins too!

: Aren't Everton being massively overhyped, considering they've played probably the easiest first 3-4 games of the season compared to the other top 6-7 teams?

Yes coz Man United and Chelsea breezed past West Brom, Brighton and Palace didn't they. FFS.

"Folk going on about Everton winning title or top 4 yet any team playing a poor Spurs side, and 3 teams who will finish in bottom 6-7 West Brom, Palace and Brighton would have fancied 4 wins too!"

What this person fails to realise is that you can only play the team in front of you and that it's results that count, not the strength of that team. Never mind the fact that Spurs went on to win comfortably at Southampton and Palace won at Old Trafford

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti, speaking to MOTD: "Brighton played well. We played well also. We managed the situation of the game well. We had composure defensively and had opportunities on the counter attack. The performance was complete and this was the reason we deserved to win."

On James Rodriguez: "As I said on the first day, the players with quality have not a problem with that (settling in). The quality is there because football is not so complicated. The pitch is always the same, the opponents are always 11, the ball is the same, the goal doesn't move. Football is simple. It is not complicated."

On Dominic Calvert-Lewin's impressive start to the season: "There is not just one reason. He is confident, we are seeing him improving and he is scoring goals and that is the most important motivation for a striker. This is the moment of Dominic Calvert-Lewin now.

"We are optimistic now for 15 days because there is a break but then we will have a fantastic test, the most difficult test against our neighbours."

Brighton boss Graham Potter, speaking to MOTD: "I don't think Everton had so many chances but we helped them, second half certainly. To concede just before half time was a blow for us and then we didn't start the second half so well.

"I think we contributed a little bit to our downfall today and that is something we need to be better at.

"No problem with the players, they kept going and kept trying. Decision making in the second half is where we could do better.

"We have conceded all our goals against Chelsea, Manchester United and Everton and they are want you consider to be top sixish teams.

"We are punished for not too much and at the same time today we contributed a bit ourselves."

Well played Blues; Davies and Delph both had decent, solid games and did their job. I was going to write that Doucoure is a key player but tbh we have several now; Keane, James, Doucoure, DCL, Richie, Allan, Digne - get those (magnificent) seven on the pitch and we'll have a chance against anyone in this league.

Siggi was tidy too - only Pickford and Walcott looked pants - Iwobi a bit meh

Tom Davies - played well in a different role and didnt have any real problem with right back either.

Jerry was immense, James got a couple - but I Tom surprised me today and doubt he will be decent again for the whole season :)
