Big Yerry MoM. Crucial goal at the half and put in about seven blocks on his own. Without him that match is a lot closer than it was. Great match for James as well two goals and an assist. Looking forward to everyone getting healthy for the derby. COYB!

We were knackered for the last 20, hardly surprising after the early season schedule after practically no pre season.

We won that at a canter though, did what we had to, buried them and then tried to just manage the game out. Thought Mina was superb today, Won’t even mention HIM & I hope Seamus’s hammy is just a slight strain James though.....

It doesn't help having Davies/Gyilf/Walcott/Gyilf/Delph on the pitch

Before the game - Brighton are a good side and will trouble Everton

After the game - Brighton are poor and can't defend.

The same with palace. The media aren't enjoying new Everton as much as we are.

I thought that was our toughest game today. Bit of needle, they can really stretch you if your not concentrating. I thought we played some terrific football, dug in when we had and always looked like we had another level if required.

They played well Brighton, its just that we played better :)

Pickford.... what is left to say?
Digne.... Great player for us but not his best day at the office.
Coleman... superb, I thought, sadly had to go off. (Doesn’t look serious)
Keane... a few wayward passes , not his best day.
Mina... Fantastic header and was an absolute rock. In the mix for motm.
Doucoure... ran all day. Breaking things up and creating at the other end. Another contender.
Davies... did well in middle and made some good tackles/ blocks. Honking right back though.
Gylfi... great first half, quieter second but kept running and showing a bit of enthusiasm.
Delph... good enough game .. nothing too remarkable.
Richarlison... looked as if he was up for it but not fit, maybe should’ve been rested?
Iwobi... headless chicken at first but came onto a game and his assists were fabulous.
DCL... pressed the back line and scored a great header... held the ball up well.
James... different class and that’s what made the difference... motm for me.
Walcott.... see Pickford.

After that, it seems Carlo knows more about football than me:D
Oh how I love watching this Everton team (no matter who plays)
Good times great feeling..

Weren’t at our best, but at crucial moments our big players produced. If you’d said we’d start with Davies and Siguardisson and still score 4 goals I think many would have taken that. Took our foot off the gas when the 4th went in. But nevertheless another comprehensive win. Well done blues.

GRAHAM POTTER P/C

Brighton at fault for all 4 goals
We were disappointed with the goals we have conceded and the decisions we made in the second half," said Potter.
He said Brighton contributed to their own downfall.

Lamptey taken off
Potter said he was taken off due to a slight problem with his hamstring.
It is more precautionary than anything.

Need to improve
Potter said he was disappointed with three points out of 12 so far.
He added that while the transfer window is open you are always looking.

Pattern of conceding from set-pieces?
It is always a concern when you concede goals," he said.

Potter said Brighton seems to get punished through set pieces and they need to improve that area

What to learn from this
At the moment it is a little too cheap or we are getting heavily punished - we need to do better there," said Potter.
Potter said Brighton's decision making needs to be better.
Ultimately if you give too many opportunities to the opposition it is going to be a difficult afternoon in the PL," he said.

Well played Blues; Davies and Delph both had decent, solid games and did their job. I was going to write that Doucoure is a key player but tbh we have several now; Keane, James, Doucoure, DCL, Richie, Allan, Digne - get those (magnificent) seven on the pitch and we'll have a chance against anyone in this league.

Siggi was tidy too - only Pickford and Walcott looked pants - Iwobi a bit meh
Iwobi got better and he laid on a good goal. He also made a great pass for the assist from Dacoure. He will improve, he tries a bit too hard at times. Needs to cool down because he is not bad.
